New Chicago-Area Co-Location Data Center Embraces Green Technology

NAPERVILLE, Ill., Sept. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Data center company Stargate Holdings Corp., a leader in the global IT services industry, today announced the addition of a flywheel-stored motion system to back up power in its new high-density facility in Oak Brook, Illinois.

"Stargate is committed to the extraction, rather than mass cooling, of heat expelled into its new data center," says Stargate CEO G. Gary Chaffin. "The use of leading-edge Flywheel Technology to support critical loads traditionally provided by conventional battery UPS systems, maintains the company's responsible and unique design approach to green technology.

"The Flywheel system is a safe, low maintenance, environmentally friendly alternative to large and inefficient UPS battery banks," says Chaffin.

JANUARY 14, 2008: SLIPPING AND SLIDING

It was one of those slipping and sliding starts to our work week. Rain fell much of the day yesterday and continued through the night. Temperatures dropped overnight and that rain turned to snow. Roads that appeared wet turned icy as the mercury fell. Bridges and overpasses of course were first to freeze and Black Ice was a problem for many of the fender benders this morning.

P.S.: Dellinger's response to point (1):

Sure, I agree that at the outer margin (McCain 45, Dem 30, Republican 25) the House might crumble to popular McCain fever. But it would be tough to pull off such a landslide. One point for your argument -- Those numbers are percentages of electoral votes. If McCain actually got that percentage of popular votes--beating one major party candidate by 15% and the other by 20% (or anywhere close to that margin) he would very likely win an electoral vote landslide and avoid the House. Still, that is very, very tough. Much tougher than (merely) finishing first in the popular and electoral votes.

Doesn't mean he won't try! 5:39 P.M.

We got a call from Jim Twite of Brewster this morning that the Cumberland Farms near Route 28 and Bank Street, AND the Harwich Gas at 435 Route 28, Harwichport next to the 400 Club, are both selling regular for $2.29.

The price is $2.32 on Rte 6 in Wareham, at both Lukoil and with the hippies... who now have a bedsheet hanging up in their office with "There Goes The Neighborhood " written on it. I love those people.

7-11 in Wareham, $2.32.... same with Exxon at the Buzzards Bay rotary.... ya know, the rotary that used to have the tugboat.

$2.51 at the Citgo near the Christmas Tree Shop in Sagamore.... $2.65 at the Citgo on 28 South in Bourne.... $2.64 at the Citgo on 28A, Bourne/Falmouth line, with $2.89 diesel for all you mothertruckers.

TARGUSinfo adds VoiceStar, Leading Provider of Pay-Per-Phone-Call ...

VIENNA, Va., Nov. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- TARGUSinfo today announced that VoiceStar has selected On-Demand Identification(SM) services from TARGUSinfo to help maximize the impact of VoiceStar's pay-per-phone-call marketing programs.

Pay-per-phone-call is a fast-growing online advertising method based on the same principles as pay-per-click. Instead of paying for Web visits, however, advertisers pay for phone calls triggered by their online advertisements. Pay-per-phone-call is increasingly popular among local service companies that don't have an e-commerce Web site or any Web site at all.

VoiceStar, a Philadelphia-based pay-per-phone-call leader, is using TARGUSinfo services to enhance call-reporting data with consumer contact information. As a result, agents receive a verified name for each consumer inquiry before the call is connected.

Collier schools chief: Top students are unfairly dictating class ...

Is there any data to back this up? Is there ANY basis upon which to make this statement? There is SO much more that needs to be said here, but the administration doesn't want to hear it. They're playing a game with us called "divide and conquer." We need to all be united here, for the good of our children and the good of our society.
